Little Buttons Boutique are delighted to be teaming up with Frugi, the UK’s leading organic children’s wear designer, and Yorkhill Children’s Charity to organise a fundraising raffle to benefit Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.
This year, Frugi designed a limited edition Prince George & The Dragon t-shirt to celebrate Prince George’s 1st Birthday. Only 60 of these t-shirts were made and 10 have been allocated to Frugi stockists to raise money for their chosen charities. I’m delighted to have been chosen and so excited to help raise money for this great cause.
Yorkhill Children’s Charity and it’s fundraising is absolutely crucial to Yorkhill Hospital as it helps them to provide the fantastic service that the Hospital is renowned for. One of the many initiatives the charity will support is the new Children’s Hospital which is set to open in the summer of 2015 and will offer world class facilities to thousands of sick children. Yorkhill prides itself on providing much needed support to patients and their families, investing in innovative medical equipment and providing entertainment and fun activities for the children being treated there.
It’s a cause very close to my heart as my little boy, Joshua, was born with kidney problems and has been treated at Yorkhill since he was a baby. During my pregnancy, Josh’s right kidney didn’t develop properly so we were closely monitored and as soon as he was born he underwent several tests and operations to further diagnose and treat his condition. Many of these procedures were very invasive and although it was a difficult time for our family, the staff at Yorkhill were fantastic and I’m so grateful to them for the care Josh received. He’s now a very happy and healthy 5 year old and and although he still has reduced function in his kidney, he now only needs regular ultrasound scans to monitor it thanks to the wonderful staff at Yorkhill.
The raffle will run from 2nd to 20th October and the prize will include a Green & Black’s organic chocolate gift set, Yorkhill teddy bear, £30 to spend at Little Buttons Boutique and of course the Frugi t-shirt (size 18-24m).
